Leather Welding Protection: Apron, Sleeves and Anklets for Full-Body Heat Protection

A welding helmet protects the eyes and face, but sparks and spatter don’t stop at the jawline. Full-body welding protection covers the torso, arms and lower legs — the areas a helmet was never designed to reach.

In short: our leather welding apron, sleeves and anklets are all made from grey split leather and certified to CE EN407 for heat and fire resistance. The apron covers the torso, the sleeves cover the arms, and the anklets cover the lower legs and footwear — three separate pieces covering three separate areas, not one product doing all three jobs.

Leather apron: torso protection

Our Grey Split Leather Apron (1001-164) is a heavy-duty 36″x24″ apron with cotton piping border, adjustable neck and back fasteners with buckles, certified CE EN407. It covers the torso — the area most directly exposed to falling sparks and spatter during overhead or bench welding.

Leather sleeves: arm protection

Our Grey Split Leather Sleeves (1001-900) are 23″ sleeves made of grey split leather, also CE EN407, protecting the forearms and upper arms — areas an apron alone doesn’t cover, particularly when reaching or working at an angle to the piece.

Leather anklets: lower leg and footwear protection

Our Grey Split Leather Anklets (1001-163) are 16″ tie anklets or spats, CE EN407, covering footwear and offering lower leg protection — the part of the body closest to falling sparks and hot metal fragments during welding at height or over the piece.

Why three separate pieces, not one suit

Buying the apron, sleeves and anklets as separate pieces means each can be worn only where it’s actually needed, and replaced individually as it wears rather than replacing an entire coverall. For welders who move between bench work and overhead work, that flexibility matters — the combination of pieces worn can change with the job.
